Heartwarming Stories: From the World & Japan.

Beyond the heartbreaking news/images coming from Japan, and getting past the ignorant insensitive messages you hear about on the social networks (yes that means you 50 cent, Gilbert Gottfried, the blond chick from UCLA & all the OMG Pearl Harbor crowd)…I thought we should start shedding more light on the positive and the uplifting stories that are buried at the bottom of all the search browsers results.

Let me first start with giving a shot out to the likes of Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and our very own local boy President.  The 3 are the top “followed” individuals on Twitter and they have been using their star power to influence support for Japan.  Lady Gaga even went a step further to create We Pray For Japan bracelets.  Kudos…you can get them here if  you’re interested.

There are also stories of rescue despite the impossible….A 60-year old man was rescued 9 miles off the coast after clinging onto what was left of his rooftop….for 2 days.

More stories from Yahoo News.

Ever here the phrase, “a picture is worth a thousand words?”
More of these great photos can be found on the JapanTwo Flickr Photostream.

Speaking of JapanTwo, which by the way is a great site to check out if you’re interested in Japan’s latest information, culture, history, town-map, travel guide, design, transportation, food, and much much more….their recent post is awesome.  Zettai…

You’ve been hearing about the world’s support for Japan but what about within Japan.  What about the people of Japan?  Love some of these posts via Twitter….

@unosuke: Tokyo Disneyland was handing out its shops’ food and drinks for free to the stranded people nearby. I saw a bunch of snobby looking highschool girls walking away with large portions of it and initially though “What the …” But I later I found out they were taking them to the families with little children at emergency evacuation areas. Very perceptive of them, and a very kind thing to do indeed.”

@fujifumi: When I was on my way home walking for 4 hours, I saw a woman holding a sketchbook saying “Use my toilette if you need!” Japan is certainly the warmhearted country in the world. It was very touching and I cried.”

Even here locally, vendors have mobilized to raise funds for the Japan Earthquake & Tsunami fund.  I hope you get involved, support the effort or donate what you can.

And don’t think that this once closed society does not appreciate what you and the rest of the world are doing for them…(sorry, but I couldn’t embed the video or rip it so please be sure you check it out here)

God is our refuge and strength, an everpresent help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea. Though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Psalms 46:1-3
