Hi, my name is Brandon. I live in Hawaii. I was born and raised here…graduated from a local high school down the street before making my way on a West Coast Journey. I started off my first year of college in Spokane, WA on a soccer scholarship before transferring to a larger research institute in Oregon. I completed a BS degree in Business Administration w/ a focus on Marketing and a minor in Social Psychology in 1999.
During my college years I was fortunate enough to land marketing internships at Time Warner Communications and at an international Asian-specific marketing firm called PacRim Marketing Group. Upon my graduation from college, I went on to live and work in San Francisco as a marketing product manager for Eidos Interactive….a video game publishing company that put out such product titles as Tomb Raider.
In 2001 I completed my west coast tour by finally moving back home to Hawaii. After hopping around several agencies, I landed at local advertising agency Hendrix Miyasaki Shin Advertising as a senior account executive and social media director for 9 years (yikes did I just date myself?). I currently continue my marketing career at simplicityHR by ALTRES as a Marketing Manager and as an independent consultant with my own company SoComm Marketing, which specializes in working with brands and creating strategies for them to better engage their customers. I also moonlight as a blogger for the Huffington Post and at the recent 2013 Hawaii Social Media summit, I was named one of the top five social media influencers in Hawaii……which basically means I talk to much online I suppose 😉
I enjoy playing soccer, love to eat/cook and surf when the sun is out. I’m an active individual who hates to stay still. When I’m bored, I’ll blog (or surf the web) so I hope you enjoy yourself reading about my experiences & points-of-view…
